Let's talk about eX, baby

Employee Experience, we say EmployeeX, or eX, is viewed by business leaders as the most important HR initiative for the next 12 months. We're already on the case.

Let’s talk about you and me, let’s talk about all the good things and the bad things that may be.

Salt-N-Pepa, 1991

Now that we have that out of our system…employee experience, EmployeeX, eX. The most important business and HR initiative for the next twelve months.

Research out in the last couple of weeks from our friends at Peppermoth*, identified that 61% of businesses leaders view ‘Culture, engagement and talent experience’ as the top HR initiative for the next 12 months. This is driven by the need to have inspired, engaged and motivated talent as we work through the current palaver. Interestingly that’s more pronounced, more of a priority at businesses at the large (75%) and small (79%), end of the spectrum - and is seen as more important by Exec, CxO’s and Founders (72%) than it is by HR (64%).

Perhaps that’s not surprising. After all retaining the talent that your company needs to survive, then thrive during and after 2020 is of paramount importance. Leadership knows this and stays awake at night worrying about what could go wrong. They know that they have to focus on providing the best employee experience that they can - or risk a quick migration of talent when the economy picks up.

So, EmployeeX. As we said before, the most important business and HR initiative for the next twelve months… back to Salt, Pepa and of course, Spinderella…

Let’s talk about you and me. Yes, let’s. Culture, relationships at work, line manager relationships,  inspiring leaders, clarity of purpose and understanding of impact. All the things that make for a great workplace.

Let’s talk about all the good things and the bad things that may be. Surely this is about authenticity, reality & truthfulness. What is the talent experience you give like. Is it good? is it bad? What are you doing to fix the bad stuff? What are you doing to celebrate the good things?

Get this right and you have all the hallmarks of a great employer, a place that people want to work for. A place for inspired, engaged and motivated talent.

The truth is of course, that you have all these things inside your business already. Sometimes people have forgotten and need reminding. Sometimes they haven’t been told and need to be. Sometimes you might not know what’s not going well, and that you need to make it right.

We work with employers to analyse and report on what’s happening right now across the employee experience and to build a strategy that will make immediate impact on business performance now, and position the talent experience for long term business and employee benefit. We call the process we’ve designed EmployeeX.

If you’d like to know more, let’s talk about eX, baby**.
